The Taste of Enterprise team are proud to announce that new businesses have established in Holyhead town centre with the help of the Empty Shop Initiative.  Recently, Mandi Lambert established ‘Needful Things’ offering Wiccan products from the gothic scene. She will be receiving further support by Menter MĂŽn and Business Wales to develop the business.  â€˜Clare’s Shoes & Accessories’ was opened by Clare Price. Originally from Holyhead town, Clare has worked within the industry for several years and loves offering her services to customers on a daily basis. With the support of Menter a Busnes and MĂŽn Communities First, Clare opened her shop, which was a dream of hers for a long time.

New shop open in Holyhead!

Another new shop has opened its doors in the town centre, proving that the “empty shop initiative” is going from strength to strength. With the support of Plas Cybi Partnership and Anglesey Council, Ffatri Fenter client, James Morgan has opened ‘Rozzy Rock Shop’. Over the past year James worked hard to organise gigs in local pubs and playing in his own band. He saw a gap in the market and approached the Taste of Enterprise – Ffatri Fenter to receive business support to turn the idea into reality. The current economic climate is making lives hard but with the co-operation of other local organisations, Taste of Enterprise is assisting clients to buck the downward trend by providing them with desirable retail opportunities and in turn help regenerate Holyhead town centre.

Siop y Porth Gallery Open Day

Gallery Siop y Porth’s Open Day was held on Friday, November 25th. The day was organised by the Ffatri team and the artists exhibiting their artwork. Thanks to the variation of marketing by the local press, distribution of flyers and invitations we received a good turn out. The public, councillors and staff of other local organisations were very impressed and were glad to see the artists making the most of this opportunity. Delicious refreshments were served by former Ffatri client, Denice Joseph, who has opened Dee’s Deli on Holyhead’s high street. If and when you visit Holyhead and you feel peckish, visit her cafĂ©!

Empty Shop Initiative Progress

Due to the Ffatri’s co-operation with other organisations in Holyhead and Ffatri clients, a new client has decided to join the Empty Shop Initiative. At the moment, James Morgan is working towards moving into William Street, Holyhead to open the first Music Shop the town has seen in decades! For years, James has played in local bands and has now chosen to follow his dream of opening a music shop in town that will allow members of the community to use the practice room free of charge and offer support to local schools. James hopes the shop will be open by Christmas. So far a total of 4 shops have already open their door on Holyhead’s high street which has certainly improved the image and popularity of the town.
