Agri Academy - Business and Innovation 2012

Agri Academy, Business & Innovation Programme 2012 A pan Wales group of forward looking farmers have been set their first challenge – to design an action plan for a Pembrokeshire livestock farm. The 11 are the first intake of the Agri-Academy Business and Innovation Programme, an initiative developed by Farming Connect. With the aim of stimulating and challenging some of the brightest prospects in Welsh farming, West Wales was the venue for the first weekend of activities.   With the itinerary including visits to Caws Cenarth and Tesco Carmarthen store to study aspects of the modern food supply chain, the Saturday concluded with a visit to Trebover Farm, a livestock enterprise near Fishguard run by Randal and Christy Williams. The group was challenged to come up with viable business ideas that would allow the business to develop sustainably and profitably for the future in line with the Williams’ aims.
